Carefully selected – independently evaluated

Every distinction with the Constructive World Award comes after a careful, multi-stage selection process: in four clearly defined steps, all submissions are independently evaluated, discussed by experts and verified based on facts.

The high-quality journalistic panel at Burda and the external experts from the Active Philanthropy network evaluate the submissions, resulting in a qualified preselection and classification of the entries. This selection is then handed over to the expert jury: Editors-in-chief of leading media companies and renowned figures from business and society. The entries are evaluated and critically discussed, and the award winners are collectively selected in a large jury meeting.

The final step is a comprehensive fact-checking process in cooperation with the German Press Agency (Deutsche Presseagentur,dpa) to ensure that all award-winning entries are reliable in terms of content and therefore worthy of receiving the award.
